You know what they say: When it rains, it pours.
Jon Rahm, a two-time major champion, is exiting LIV Golf in a huge blow to the circuit that is attempting to rise out of federal bankruptcy without financial backing from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF).
In a hearing Wednesday with U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey Judge Michael B. Kaplan, Rahm's lawyer, John Beck, stated that his client is leaving LIV. (RELATED: Eagles All-Pro Lane Johnson Retires After 14 Years To 'Focus On Mental Health')
"Mr. Rahm has independently reviewed the proposed terms of LIV 2.0 and has determined that those terms are unacceptable to him, and he will not be participating going forward in LIV 2.0," said Beck, per ESPN.
Beck stated that Rahm and LIV Golf are working together on a separation agreement, wanting to get it done by Oct. 15. It's not currently known where Rahm will play in 2027.

When PIF pulled its wealth from the equation, pretty much everybody knew that the league was a "dead man walking." But having one of your superstars, through his lawyer, essentially say to a bankruptcy judge, "thanks, but no thanks," is rough.
The real question now is how much pride Jay Monahan and the PGA Tour are willing to swallow. Would they let Jon Rahm back?
Fans and sponsors want it to happen, and let's be honest, the ecosystem of golf could use the healing.
The PGA should chop it up with Rahm on a deal, dish out whatever fines and punishments to protect the circuit, and bring Rahm home.
It's pretty simple to me what should happen from here.
