The Transportation Security Administration is asking World Cup travelers to be conscious of their condiments when packing for their next flight.
In a post shared to Instagram on June 16, TSA advised newfound fans on the proper way to transport ranch dressing, a quintessential American flavor some soccer fans are experiencing for the first time.
"Yeah soooo your carry-on wasn't actually made for *checks notes* 4 bottles of ranch & a taser," joked one page of the multi-slide post, which also said in its caption that "the world is slowly discovering ranch pairs perfectly with pizza, chicken wings, fries, onion rings, quesadillas, crackers, chips, vegetables, and the list just keeps growing."
Ranch dressing is a uniquely American condiment, having been invented in Nebraska and perfected in California in the 1950s. The mix of buttermilk, mayonnaise, herbs and spices has since become not only America's favorite salad dressing, but a popular flavor internationally. You'll find ranch in supermarkets where there is a heavy American cultural influence, like Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, but it is rare or entirely unheard of in other parts of the world.
Cue the influx of ranch love from international tourists tasting it for the first time while visiting for the World Cup and, apparently, trying to bring a stockpile home.

If you're going to bring a bottle of ranch on your flight, make sure it's in a container 3.4 oz or smaller, asks TSA.
"If you're visiting for a very large sporting event & you happen to discover RANCH while you're here...pls pack it in your CHECKED BAG on the way home. Thank you," TSA asked international guests in its post.
As a reminder, liquids and gels you want to carry on a plane with you need to be in containers that are 3.4 oz (100 ml) in size or smaller and must all fit into one quart-sized, resealable bag, according to TSA guidelines. Containers that are larger than 3.4 oz in size need to be checked, even if they aren't full.
"Who knew dip-lomacy could be achieved through addressing the obvious: ranch is the king of condiments," said TSA. "Are you kicking around the idea of flying home with your favorite dip? If you're traveling within the U.S., make sure to keep your carry-on sauces to 3.4oz or less and place any larger containers in your checked bags."
You can still have your industrial-sized bottle of ranch, you've just got to make sure to check it, which is probably the favorable option to throwing it out or trying to finish it before boarding your flight.
"ok please avoid chugging your ranch outside security the airlines will check it for you," TSA advised.
