Previously unheard recordings made by Princess Diana are set to be unveiled and may shed light on allegations her brother, Earl Spencer, has made about King Charles.
A new documentary focusing on the late Princess of Wales will debut next year, marking the 30th anniversary of her tragic death. Diana Unheard draws from confidential audio tapes recorded by the late princess herself.
These recordings were originally provided to journalist Andrew Morton for his 1992 bestseller, Diana: Her True Story. Those same clips now serve as the foundation for a three-part documentary series produced by Love Monday TV. It comes as we revealed which of Diana's jewels found their way into Meghan Markle's jewelry box.

The production company told Deadline the recordings "cover some of the ground explored by her brother, Earl Spencer, in his recent book Swan Song," suggesting additional context may emerge regarding his assertions.

Diana's brother has engaged in a public dispute with Buckingham Palace after alleging King Charles remarked "rest assured, we'll forget her soon enough" in the aftermath of Diana's fatal Paris car accident in August 1997.

Last month, the Palace issued a statement responding, "While we do not comment on books as a matter of principle, His Majesty is mindful that the pain of fraternal grief can cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory in ways others do not recognise, even many years after such a loss."
Nevertheless, Love Monday's Kerene Barefield emphasized the new series aims not to resolve past disputes, but rather to "give Diana a voice." She added, "The media always gave us this tragedy that Diana was sad and lonely, and she was manipulated.

"These tapes don't tell that story at all. They tell a story of an incredibly brave woman who had agency and knew what she wanted and how she was going to get to it."
It's believed to be the first time where a single organization has received access to the complete archive of recordings at once, and Barefield noted they showcase Diana's authentic character.
She explained, "One of the things I loved when I first heard the tapes was just hearing her laughter. In the middle episode, we go back to her childhood. There's all this stuff that you wouldn't expect and I think it shows that she had that agency and that kind of drive from a very young age."
Prince Harry is also expected to commemorate Diana's death by reportedly producing a documentary, though no formal announcement has been released by the Duke of Sussex.
