Knicks head coach Mike Brown seemingly poked fun at James Dolan's 10 week sex ban suggestion by wearing a shirt with the words "10 weeks" and "sacrifice" for the team's championship parade

Dolan had asked Knicks players to abstain from sex for 10 weeks during the team's postseason run

Knicks head coach Mike Brown appeared to poke fun at the team's now-viral sex ban as he celebrated their NBA championship win.

Brown, 56, wore a special shirt for the team's championship parade on Thursday, June 18 in New York City, with the word "sacrifice" over the Knicks logo on the front, and the words "10 weeks" on the back — seemingly in reference to owner James Dolan's request that the team abstain from sex during the 10 weeks of the playoffs.

Dolan initially floated the idea of a sex ban on April 3, when the team had just five games left in the regular season. Knicks stars Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart revealed the request on June 15, after the championship win, when they shared a clip of Dolan's speech on their podcast The Roommates Show.

Dolan had brought up the pitch during a team meeting, where he said, "I had this idea that maybe you should give up sex for the next 10 weeks. The Spartans, they denied themselves, right, so they can have an edge. Get the edge. Go home, talk to your wives ... don't tell them it was my idea."

He added, "But let them know what this is going to be like, what this commitment is going to be like."

The ban earned mixed reviews from the players, it turns out. Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns joked on The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday, June 16 that his fiancée Jordyn Woods "didn't like" Dolan's proposal. "I'm a happily engaged man, I will definitely say, when I came home, and I told my fiancée what he said, she didn't like to hear that one," Towns, 30, told Stern with a laugh.

Whether or not they stuck to it, something worked and Brown and the players celebrated with the Larry O'Brien trophy on the streets of New York City on Thursday. Brown, wearing the "10 weeks" shirt, was seen participating in a chant of the Baha Men's 2000 hit "Who Let the Dogs Out" with excited Knicks fans on the city streets before boarding the team's parade bus.

In a video shared on X, Brown is seen signing autographs for fans chanting his name.

Brown addressed Knicks fans during the championship parade on Thursday, where he once again sang "Who Let the Dogs Out" in celebration. Brunson joked after, "I don't know how many times I gotta tell Mike to stop doin that s---," during his own speech.
