Kenan Thompson paid tribute to former *All That *costar Christy Knowings following her death.

“Man this one hit hard!!! Rest well Christy!!! Never could have imagined this day!!” Thompson captioned an Instagram post on Aug. 13. “Sending so much love to her family!! She was a real one and one of the funniest people out here!!! Gonna miss you buddy!!!”

The *Saturday Night Live** *star asked followers to show “some love” to Knowings following her death.

TMZ reported on Thursday that Knowings died at age 46 following an asthma attack that led to brain damage. A family member told the publication that Knowings was hospitalized for four days before her family decided to take her off life support.

Knowings made her *All That *debut on Nickelodeon in 1997. One of her most popular sketches on the show was “Whateverrr!!!” in which she appeared alongside Amanda Bynes. The comedian was on the show for several years, her tenure spanning from season 4 through season 6.

During a 2019 interview with *Bustle*, Knowings reflected on her “favorite moment” on the show, referring to Gloria Bankhead, a character introduced during the show’s sixth season.

“She was an over-the-top Martha Stewart, I had never played any character like her! I just remember being on set and being her all-day long. Everybody loved it!” Knowings shared. “The writers, the stage managers, everybody was just like, ‘Hi Gloria!’ Gloria Bankhead was my favorite character to play. She was on set like that all the time. It was fun to just be in character like that, even when the cameras weren’t rolling. It’s what I’d do constantly.”

Knowings gushed over some iconic 1990s musical guests during the same interview, reflecting on her interaction with 98 Degrees specifically.

“They were backstage and I was guessing their zodiac signs and fake reading their palms,” she said of the group, which consisted of Nick and Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons, and Justin Jeffre. “They got a kick out of that.”

The late Nickelodeon star also remembered one of her castmates “messing up” when the Spice Girls were on set.

“He was so excited to meet them,” she said. “He could NOT get his line out, but they were so sweet about it.”

Knowings even discussed how the cast’s diversity “made a huge difference” and played a huge part in her positive memories from the show.

“I’m from the Bronx and Native American Afro-Latina, so I was able to bring so much to the table. We would bring cultural nuances and it was celebrated,” Knowings said, referring to herself and Thompson. “With ‘Inconvenience Store,’ there was a cultural aspect that people are more familiar with now, but back then they really weren’t. But it’s cool that it was celebrated in that way, it was a lot of fun.”
