Kelly Ripa revealed that she considered getting a nose ring when she was younger
The talk show host ended up not getting the body modification but revealed how she solved the temptation
Ripa is among the hosts who have talked about their piercings
Kelly Ripa might've looked a tad different now if she went through this one semi-permanent transformation.
During the April 15 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, a clip of which was shared by Decider, Ripa, 55, revealed that she's "toyed" with the idea of getting a nose ring.
"There was a moment in my life 15 years ago, maybe 20, when I talked about it," she began, with her husband and co-host Mark Consuelos agreeing that she contemplated getting the piercing done.

But instead of fully taking the plunge, what Ripa did, she shared, was "drawing little dots on my nose of where I would put [the ring]. Then I started putting little stick-on rhinestones on my nose to see how it would look. It went on and on."
Consuelos offered a piece of sound advice when his wife wouldn't make up her mind. "Mark was like, maybe just try the rhinestone thing until you're sick of it."

Ripa isn't the only talk show host who has opened up about piercings.
In 2025, Jenna Bush Hager revealed that she once had a piercing — a belly button ring — which she had to ditch due to a medical emergency.

While getting her ears pierced on air with Scarlett Johansson, she revealed, “I also had my belly button for a brief period. It got infected. It wasn't great.”
She continued, “I've done it once. I have a nice little scar that reminds me of those wild days,” she said at the time. “I was actually studying abroad at Oxford, and I [wanted to be] rebellious. And there wasn't much I could do besides pierce my belly button. So I did it.”
