Jimmy Fallon poked fun at White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt during his monologue on Wednesday night’s “Tonight Show” after President Donald Trump announced Leavitt’s resignation from the White House press office.
“Some more big news. Today, Trump announced that Karoline Leavitt is resigning as White House press secretary,” the late-night host told his audience. “Yeah, apparently, she’s moving on to an easier job working as the press secretary for Taylor Farms lettuce.”

Taylor Farms is the massive lettuce supplier public health officials identified as the source of this summer’s multi-state outbreak of cyclosporiasis, a gastrointestinal illness that causes explosive diarrhea.
Fallon also quipped that Leavitt was among the presidential aides left behind when Trump was reportedly carried off of Air Force One before a scheduled departure flight out of Turkey last month due to a threat linked to Iran. After the Secret Service covertly moved Trump off the plane via a catering truck, the original Air Force One took off with White House personnel and other support staff, essentially serving as a decoy.
“It’s like, ‘Oh, really? You didn’t take me?’” Fallon continued.

Trump announced in a Truth Social post on Wednesday that Leavitt will leave her post by the end of August.
“Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect!” the president wrote.
Trump added that Leavitt “will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections.”
