- The Metro Nashville Police Department confirmed to ** that officers found him dead at his apartment during a welfare check.

- Keith worked with artists including Travis Scott, Drake, and Jennifer Lopez.

Grammy-nominated hip-hop producer Tay Keith, who worked with artists including Beyoncé, Eminem, Lil Nas X, and Jennifer Lopez, has died, police in Nashville, Tenn., said Thursday. He was 29.

Keith (real name: Brytavious Chambers) was found dead in his apartment, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

"No foul play is suspected in the death of Brytavious Chambers, 29, also known as Grammy nominated record producer Tay Keith," the department told **. "He was found dead in his Martin St apt this afternoon by officers performing a welfare check. His death is unclassified pending autopsy results."

EW has reached out to a rep for the artist.

Keith was a native of Memphis, Tenn., according to PEOPLE. He met his music partner, rapper BlocBoy JB, when he was 14.

His professional breakthrough came in 2018, when he worked with Travis Scott on the hit song "Sicko Mode," from Scott's 2018 album *Astroworld*. He also collaborated with Drake the same year on the track "Look Alive."

Keith earned Grammy nods for both "Sicko Mode" and "Rich Flex," from 21 Savage and Drake the same year.

Later work included Beyoncé's "Before I Let Go," Eminem's "Not Alike," Lil Nas X's "Holiday" (which gave him a shoutout), and Lopez's 2024 album *This Is Me... Now*. Over his career, he also worked with artists including Future, Cardi B, Sexxy Red, and Miley Cyrus.

In addition to his other accolades, Keith had received the Producer of the Year award at the BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards multiple times. In 2025, he was also named Songwriter of the Year by the organization.

Keith, who was also the co-owner of Drumatized Music Group, had graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2018. Already, he was a success in music.

"My mom, my dad, and my grandparents were all behind me to finish school," he told a university student publication in January 2020. "We were near the finish line when [the success] happened, so why not finish it?"

Not that it had been easy.

"I remember having a flight from New York, and I had a test the same day," he said. "So, I flew back from New York that morning, went home, then went straight to class. It was crazy. But if I knew that I could do that, then there wasn't anything stopping me but myself."
