Hayden Panettiere’s ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko alleged that a “non-family member” sold some of the late actress’s property following her death.

Klitschko claimed that jewelry meant for the actress’s sole heir, their daughter Kaya, was pawned.

Panettiere died on August 16 at the age of 36.

Hayden Panettiere’s ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko is seeking to recover jewelry that he alleges was sold to a pawn shop following the late actress’s death on August 16. In new court documents obtained by People, the former pro boxer asked for law enforcement to step in to help recoup property that was meant to be an inheritance for Panettiere’s sole heir, daughter Kaya.

Klitschko—who has had full custody of their 11-year-old since 2018— his petition for temporary guardianship of the Heroes star’s estate, claiming that he was “informed and believes that a non-family member previously connected to Hayden sold certain items belonging to Hayden, believed to include jewelry, to a pawn shop.” The former Ukrainian athlete did not share the identity of the person he says was involved.

In the filing, Klitschko—who had an off-and-on relationship with Panettiere from 2009 to 2018—asked for “law enforcement assistance” to investigate the loss of the late Nashville star’s property. He said that the pawn shop in question refused to give back the items it received “without being contacted by law enforcement.”

Klitschko expressed his fears that the jewelry and other property would be damaged or sold to other parties, leading to the “direct financial detriment of Kaya, Hayden’s sole intestate heir.” He originally filed to be named as a temporary guardian of Panettiere’s estate on behalf of Kaya on September 24.

In the original filing, Klitschko claimed that Panettiere had hired a security team shortly before her death due to a “documented concern that an individual had gained unauthorized access to Hayden’s property.” At the time, he said that valuables were removed and her locks were changed.

Despite these precautions, he said at the time that he believes “it is expected that the individual will continue to try and misappropriate property belonging to Hayden’s Estate.” Klitschko also said that he thinks that “non-family members previously connected to Hayden have accessed and destroyed Hayden’s emails.”

Greenville County Coroner in South Carolina confirmed last month that Panettiere died after suffering a cardiac arrest due to the toxic effects of several drugs in her body. A police report previously revealed that Panettiere’s on-and-off boyfriend Brian Hickerson and his brother Zach were with her when she died.
