Cass Lacelle, who appeared on the Freeform reality series *Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise*,* *has died at the age of 34.

Lacelle died on Feb. 11 after a "short but incredibly courageous battle with cancer," her loved ones wrote in a a post shared to her Instagram on Monday.

"Cass leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured. She is the definition of memorable," the post read. "In just 34 years, she made an extraordinary impact on everyone who crossed her path. She taught us that life is precious, meant to be embraced wholeheartedly and never wasted. Boredom was her biggest enemy. Cass had a rare gift for making people feel truly alive and bringing everyone together, she was the glue."**

Lacelle's loved ones honored the Cayman Islands-based marketing professional and entrepreneur's "ability to be there in a meaningful way for so many people" as "a super power and we hope people find comfort in memories shared with her. Because she has touched so many people far and wide, her wish was for one final post to be shared."****In closing, the post read, "Our dearest Cass, you have been very brave, for so very long. You did not yield."**

Lacelle was born on September 27, 1991. She grew up in Vancouver and in 2016, moved to the Cayman Islands, where she founded the marketing agency Electric Media Group, per the Cayman Compass.

It was that endeavor, as well as her charitable work with organizations like Autism Acceptance and the Big Brothers Big Sisters, that put her on the radar of Hulu producers when casting for the reality series *Grand Cayman: Secrets in Paradise*. The series eventually moved to Freeform, where it aired for one season in 2024.

"I stayed on a couch almost a full month until I started earning some money," Lacelle recalled of her journey to public recognition within the social ecosystem of the self-governing British territory. "I eventually started saving up money, and now here I am. It was crazy."**

Lacelle announced that she was diagnosed with Mucinous adenocarcinoma, a rare form of cancer that developed a tumor in her left ovary, in May 2025.

"I've never gone down this road before. We all know the physical and mental changes that can happen through chemo," she said, before soliciting advice from her 6,000 followers.

In her last social media update, shared on Jan. 4, Lacelle revealed that her cancer had spread to her liver, stomach, abdominal lining, and omentum. After a list of health updates, she took time to shout out her "army of people who have dropped everything to either physically be here day in day out, or support me behind the scenes in the most selfless ways. I have no words but my gratitude is endless."**
