Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts eased concerns after reliever Blake Treinen was struck in the head by a batted ball during pregame batting practice on Saturday.

According to Fabian Ardaya, Treinen was hit while standing in the bullpen and underwent immediate evaluation. Early indications suggested the right-hander avoided serious injury. Ardaya shared on X that the team believed Treinen was “doing Ok” following the incident.

Roberts later confirmed the update, noting the ball did not cause lasting issues. When asked postgame, Roberts said, "Yeah, he took one off the noggin earlier, and it was a pretty flush shot. But from everything I've heard from him, the training stuff, he was good, and he was up earlier, and so that was a good."

The decision to hold him out appeared precautionary, and no injured list move is expected. That comes as a relief for Los Angeles, given Treinen’s importance to the team. He holds a 0.00 ERA across eight outings, allowing no runs in 6.2 innings with 6 strikeouts while maintaining a sharp 0.90 WHIP.

Treinen has been helpful, especially in tight late-game spots. Recent scoreless outings against top opponents have been beneficial as the Dodgers push through an early surge.

On the field, however, the Los Angeles Dodgers fell 4-3 to the Colorado Rockies.

Troy Johnston’s go-ahead double proved decisive, while the Rockies’ bullpen shut down a potent Dodgers offense.

Despite the loss, Los Angeles remains strong at 15–5, leading the NL West.

The team will now look ahead, hoping Treinen remains fully available as their bullpen continues to play a key role in a promising campaign.
