Their careers may be larger than life, but these celebrities have chosen to keep their love lives away from the spotlight.

Recently, Oprah Winfrey made headlines after she shared photos of her long-term partner, Stedman Graham, who hasn’t made a public appearance with the media mogul since 2019. But Oprah is hardly the only celebrity who has opted to keep their love life under the radar. Other stars such as Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Hiddleston and Emma Stone have also managed to get married and start families without the masses knowing a thing.

In a 2018 interview with Gwyneth Paltrow, Oprah opened up about why she chose to keep her relationship private, revealing that she was often bothered by the number of false stories that would come out every time she and Stedman were seen together. “It’s why I stopped making as many public appearances with Stedman, because I realized that every time there’s a new photograph, there’s a new story,” she stated.

Ahead, see the celebrities whose significant others we rarely see.

Of the four decades they have been together, Oprah Winfrey’s partner, Stedman Graham has only made a handful of public appearances with the media mogul.

The pair first met at a charity event in 1986 and became friends before they started dating the same year. They were engaged in 1992, but called it off the following year, and still remained a couple.

Over the years, Oprah has opened up about their decision not to get married, telling Vogue, “Nobody believes it, but it’s true. The only time I brought it up was when I said to Stedman, ‘What would have happened if we had actually gotten married?’ And the answer is: ‘We wouldn’t be together.’ We would not have stayed together, because marriage requires a different way of being in this world.”

Winfrey added, “His interpretation of what it means to be a husband and what it would mean for me to be a wife would have been pretty traditional, and I would not have been able to fit into that.”

Still, majority of their 15-year love story has been kept away from the limelight with the Oscar-winning actress only sharing snippets about their home life.

In 2021, Winslet raved about how supportive Smith is of her career, telling The New York Times, “He is an absolutely extraordinary life partner. I’m so, so, so lucky. For a man who is severely dyslexic, as he is, he’s great at testing me on lines. It’s so hard for him to read out loud, but he still does it.”

The actress inadvertently revealed they had tied the knot when she referred to the Milo Greene vocalist as “my husband” during a virtual taping of Variety’s Actors on Actors back in 2021.

In June, news broke that the pair were expecting their first baby together when Olsen was spotted out to lunch in Los Angeles wearing a white button-down shirt that was left open at the bottom to reveal her baby bump.

Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley were such good friends that even though she was in love with him, she thought expressing those feelings would ruin their friendship.

“We were friends for so long. I was always in love with him, but I thought, ‘Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him,’ “ she told Vogue in 2016.

It turned out the feelings were mutual, however. “Then it happened, and I was like, ‘Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.’ “

And even though she gave us a small peek into her wedding day, the actress didn’t divulge much about her nuptials aside from the fact that it was a day to remember.

“It was just a beautiful experience,” the Lovebirds actress later toldTamron Hall. “People tell you that it goes by fast, and they’re right. But my thing was, it was a party. At the end of the day, it was just a big party. And it was a lot of fun. In January 2018, Sheeran and Seaborn secretly got married in an intimate ceremony.

During an appearance on the Table Manners with Jessie Ware podcast, Sheeran called their big day a “tiny, tiny event,” saying, “We did it at night on a random day in the middle of January in the middle of nowhere.
