Apple Martin is sharing what she wants to do after she graduates in May — and it's not law school anymore.
The 21-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin spoke with Vogue in a new interview and shared that she no longer wants to attend law school after graduating from Vanderbilt University this coming May. Martin, who majored in law, history and society, instead tells the outlet she wants to follow in her mom's footsteps.
"I was in that rebellious 'I don't wanna be like my parents' type of phase," Martin said of wanting to attend law school. Now, she wants to act.

"I don't wanna be a singer," explains Martin, who notes she also likes to sing. "I like musical theater, but getting onstage by yourself to sing is so terrifying."
"I love dancing and I love acting," she continues. "My dream is to act."
This shift in interests seems to have come within the last year. In an April 2025 interview with Interview Magazine, Martin was asked by the outlet if she's planning on majoring in drama. "No," she replied at the time.
"I'm a law, history and society major, but I wish I would've taken — maybe I'll take a theater course before I leave," Martin continued. "It's a fun balance between my very different extracurriculars and my major."
And while she wasn't majoring in drama, Martin did share at the time that she is involved in her campus' cabaret theater group. That semester, she was participating in a show and, at the time of the interview, was getting her cast's costumes together.
"It's really busy because after spring break I have tech week and I have to get everyone's costumes ready for the show," she said.

"I'm in the lovely Vanderbilt Original Cast, the esteemed cabaret theater group. This semester's show is a musical parody of Love Island called Love on an Island. It's so fun. The songs are phenomenal," Martin added.
She also said that while she'd "love to do theater" after graduating, she was thinking about becoming a lawyer.
"So the reason why I was originally like, 'Maybe I'll be a lawyer,' was because I loved acting, but I was insecure and nervous, so I was like, 'Oh my God, if I'm a lawyer, I can perform on the stage in a trial setting,' " Martin shared.
"It's insane that I thought that. Also I cannot lie, I was like, 'I'll just be Elle Woods,' " she joked. "It's a lot harder than it looks. I don't know how she managed to go to law school every day as fabulous as she did. But I love history. I love true crime. I love investigating."
"I also think it’s fun to look at the history of law and see how you can implement it in a modern context. If I were to be a lawyer, I would just want to help people. That’s probably the biggest thing."
