After a recent TikTok showing MAGA media figures going from passionately praising Trump to absolutely dragging him went viral, I decided to see how many other famous Trump voters were experiencing a change of heart. So, here are 15 famous Trump voters who publicly turned against him — and explained why:The MAGA media figures who spent years selling Trump to their audiences:1. Tucker Carlson is a conservative political commentator who hostedTucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News before launching his own media company. For years, he praised Trump, interviewed him, defended him through controversy after controversy, and promoted him to millions of conservative viewers.

But during the 2024 election, Carlson really went all in bycampaigning with Trump, appearing at hisrallies, and taking the stage at the July 2024 Republican National Convention. In hisspeech, Carlson called Trump "a wonderful person" and said he had shown "the most responsible, unifying behavior of a leader I think I've ever seen."

Then, everything changed in April 2026 when Carlson apologized for helping Trump get back into office. "You and me and millions of people like us are the reason this is happening right now," he said while talking to his brother. "We'll be tormented by it for a long time. I will be. And I want to say I'm sorry for misleading people. It was not intentional."

Carlson, who had promoted Trump as an anti-war "America First" candidate, lateraccused him of betraying the movement and joined other former allies in discussing a new political path.

2. Candace Owens is a conservative commentator and podcaster who became one of the most recognizable voices in MAGA politics. By 2018, Trump was publicly praising her, and in 2019, Owens spoke at the White House. Over the next several years, she defended him to her millions of followers, promoted his campaigns, and repeated his false claims that the 2020 election had been stolen.

In 2024, Owens supported Trump again and encouraged her audience to vote for him.

She said, "He's been a chronic disappointment," and "I feel embarrassed that I told people to go vote for him because this wasn't going to happen, and it is happening." She added, "This is not the candidate that I voted for." Owens later revealed she was "completely embarrassed" that she had supported him because she believed he had "completely flipped on his entire base."3. Alex Jones is the far-right conspiracy theorist behind Infowars, where he built a huge loyal political audience. In December 2015, Trump appeared on his show and told him, "Your reputation is amazing. I will not let you down." Jones then spent years praising Trump, pushing his agenda, defending him to his followers, and spreading the false claim that the 2020 election had been stolen.

After discussing Trump's threats involving Iran, Jones said, "This isn't a guy acting like he's crazy. This is real."

He continuedcriticizing Trump's handling of the war in later broadcasts. Though Jones has turned against Trump and then supported him again before, so who knows if we can call this a permanent breakup…

4. Ann Coulter is a conservative author and political commentator who has been demanding much stricter immigration laws long before Trump entered politics. In June 2015, shortly after Trump announced his first campaign, Coulter became one of his earliest major supporters. During the 2016 election, she promoted him as America's "last shot" and published a book titled In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome! Coulter repeatedly told conservative readers that Trump was the candidate who would finally build the border wall and deliver the immigration crackdown she had wanted for years.

"He's saying what I wanted somebody to say." She added, "I mean, I still support him. I just feel like we are getting...we vote, and we vote, and we vote, and we never get what we are voting for."

Coulter latercalled herself a "former Trumper" and argued that conservatives needed "the Trump agenda without Trump." However, Coulter stillsaid she would vote for the Trump-Vance ticket in 2024, even while calling Trump an "awful, awful person," because she trusted and liked JD Vance more than Trump.

The celebrities who proudly promoted Trump to their fans:5. Azealia Banks is a rapper widely known for her extremely opinionated posts, which she shares with her large online following. Banks's political views have shifted significantly, but she has praised Trump several times. After he won the 2016 election, she wrote, "I'm fucking proud as FUCK of you."

In July 2024, she attended one of hisrallies and, after saying she might vote for Kamala Harris, posted a picture after the election claiming she had actually voted for Trump.

Just five months later, in April 2025, Banks publicly said she regretted it. "Ok I think it's time everyone who voted for Trump admit that we made a f*cking mess," she wrote. "Like this is an absolute disaster. He's so petty and vindictive rn." She later defended Trump during some individual controversies, so like a lot of people on this list, I think it's fair to call her a confusing character.6. Sean Strickland is a UFC fighter and former middleweight champion who has become well-known for his political rants as well as his fights. He was seen praising Trump and MAGA in interviews and on social media. After winning at UFC 302 in June 2024, Strickland walked over to Trump at ringside and later discussed his support for him. In an MS NOW montage, Strickland said, "Dude, Trump is the fucking man. You guys ever meet Trump? You talk to him? No, you meet him and he's actually a solid fucking guy."

During an appearance on The Shawn Ryan Show, he said, "Voting for Trump will be a lifelong regret of mine," and added, "We were all lied to." He later revealed, "I can't do it anymore, Trump. I feel fucking betrayed," and compared being at a Trump rally to understanding "how Hitler happened." Strickland continued criticizing Trump over Iran, Israel, and the Epstein files, and later claimed those comments cost him a place on the UFC's planned White House fight card.7. Ryan Garcia is a professional boxer and social-media personality with millions of young followers. During the 2024 election, he became one of Trump's most visible supporters in boxing. Garcia visited him at Mar-a-Lago, posed with him, shadowboxed with him, and repeatedly praised him online. In one interview, Garcia even complained that some people disliked him for supporting Trump.

During a conversation with YouTuber and streamer N3on, he said he was "no longer" a Trump supporter and called for the full files to be released. Garcia also told podcaster Steiny that he was separating himself from political parties, while Yahoo Sports reported that he had withdrawn his support.

In July 2026, Garcia also joined N3on and influencer Wendy Ortiz at an "ICE OUT" charity car washbenefiting families affected by immigration raids.

8. Joe Rogan is a comedian, UFC commentator, and host of The Joe Rogan Experience, one of the biggest podcasts in the world. In October 2024, Rogan gave Trump a relaxed, nearly three-hour interview that garnered 62 million views. Then, in November 2024, the night before Election Day, Rogan officially endorsed Trump.

After sharing Elon Musk's argument for electing him, Rogan wrote, "He makes what I think is the most compelling case for Trump you'll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way."

By March 2026, Rogan was openly accusing Trump of breaking the promises that had attracted many of those voters. While discussing the Iran war, he said, "People feel betrayed," and he questioned how another major conflict fit with Trump's anti-war campaign. In another clip, Rogan said the situation seemed "so insane based on what he ran on." He also criticized the administration's immigration enforcement and handling of the Epstein files.9. Theo Von is a comedian and the host of This Past Weekend, a hugely popular podcast that typically focuses more on funny stories and personal conversations than on hard politics. But in August 2024, he decided to give Trump a friendly, hour-long interview about addiction, family, and politics. That casual setting helped Trump reach millions of younger listeners who likely were not watching presidential debates or cable news. Von also hosted JD Vance in October 2024 and attended Trump's January 2025 inauguration, which he later called "inspiring."

"Yooo DHS, i didn't approve to be used in this," he wrote on X. "please take this down and please keep me out of your 'banger' deportation videos." Von said his views were "a lot more nuanced" and later explained that his father's immigration papers were among his most "prized possessions" because his father came from Nicaragua.

By April 2026, Von was also openlyslamming Trump's war with Iran by asking, "What American is this helping?" and "What regular person is this helping? I just don't know. I don't understand." Von also called Trump's actions "unbelievable," "f*cking baffling," and "diabolical."

10. Andrew Schulz is a comedian and co-host of Flagrant, a hugely popular podcast with a large young male audience. In October 2024, Schulz gave Trump a long, friendly interview just like his friends Rogan and Von. Schulz and Trump joked around throughout the interview, helping Trump come across as relaxed and relatable. Schulz later confirmed that he voted for Trump.

[...] He's doing the exact opposite of everything I voted for." Schulz continued, "I want him to stop the wars. He's funding them. Reduce the budget. He's increasing it." He also criticized the administration over the Epstein files, saying, "There is no f*cking Epstein files? There is no client list? There is no nothing?"11. Shawn Ryan is a former Navy SEAL and host of The Shawn Ryan Show, which is a podcast that is especially popular with veterans, military audiences, and conservative men. During the 2024 election, Ryan interviewed Trump, in addition to endorsing and voting for him. His show also regularly features conservative politicians, Trump allies, and other figures connected to MAGA politics. Because of Ryan's military background and loyal following, his opinions seemed to carry extra weight with viewers who trusted him on topics surrounding national security and government.

Ryan accused the administration of betraying the MAHA movement and later joined Tucker Carlson for a long conversation talking about "Trump's betrayal."The people who worked with Trump and built their political careers around him:12. Mike Pence is a former Indiana governor who literally served as Trump's vice president from 2017 to 2021. During those four years, Pence repeatedly praised Trump and campaigned for his reelection. At a January 2020 rally, he told the crowd, "Iowa and America need four more years of President Donald Trump in the White House," and later urged them to "have faith in this president."

In November 2022, Pence said, "The president's words and actions in and around January 6 were reckless," adding that Trump's message that day "endangered my family and endangered people that were in the Capitol and was indefensible."

Then, in March 2024, Penceannounced that he would not endorse Trump, saying, "It should come as no surprise that I will not be endorsing Donald Trump this year." Heexplained that Trump was now pushing an agenda "at odds with the conservative agenda that we governed on during our four years."

13. Marjorie Taylor Greene is a former Republican congresswoman from Georgia who became nationally famous as one of Trump's loudest and most loyal defenders. During her 2020 congressional campaign, Greene tied herself closely to Trump and the MAGA movement. She later promoted his false claims that the 2020 election had been stolen, spoke at his rallies, and took the stage at the July 2024 Republican National Convention to support his return.

In herspeech, Greene also told the crowd that Trump would "make America successful again."

Her criticism became even more direct during the 2026 Iran war. She wrote, "I wanted so much for President Trump to put America First." She added, "That's what I believed he would do. All I heard from his speech tonight was WAR WAR WAR."

And during an interview, she said, "I believed his speeches. I believed his words," before adding, "I thought that Trump would be the vehicle to do it. And boy, was I wrong." Greene recently joined Tucker Carlson and other former allies inaccusing Trump of betraying the movement.

14. Omarosa Manigault Newman is a reality TV personality who first became famous on The Apprentice (Trump's show) in 2004. She stayed connected to him for years and joined his 2016 presidential campaign as its Director of African American Outreach. "Every critic, every detractor, will have to bow down to President Trump," Omarosa said during the campaign. "It's everyone who's ever doubted Donald, whoever disagreed, whoever challenged him. It is the ultimate revenge to become the most powerful man in the universe."

After Trump won, she joined his White House in 2017 as an assistant to the president.

In 2018, she secretly recorded White House conversations and published the highly critical book Unhinged. "I was totally complicit," she admitted on The Daily Show. "When I joined this administration, I thought I could make a difference. I was very naive about that."

Omarosa alsosaid she had a "blind spot" when it came to Trump and later called him unfit for office. So her switch came after years of personally knowing, promoting, and working for him.

15. And lastly, Anthony Scaramucci. He is an entrepreneur, podcaster, and founder of the investment firm SkyBridge Capital. Although he criticized Trump early in the 2016 Republican primary, Scaramucci later became one of his most visible television defenders and joined his campaign. In July 2017, he publicly apologized for previously calling Trump a "hack politician" and became White House Communications Director.

Even after being fired just 10 days later, Scaramucci continued defending Trump and predicted that he would win reelection in more than 40 states.

Scaramucci later backed Joe Biden in 2020, endorsed Kamala Harris in 2024, and said, "Working for Trump was the biggest mistake of my life."

In a LinkedIn post, hewrote, "I worked for President Trump because I believed he truly desired to help a working class left behind. But all Trump knows is the anger, without real solutions."
